SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – September is National Suicide Awareness Month and the Mental Health Association (MHA) wants the community to know there is help available by displaying a digital billboard driving throughout Springfield.

As students, parents and educators navigate through a school with the looming threat of COVID-19, a nonprofit that partners with school districts on 165 campuses, is expanding its mental health programs to meet students where they are.

Communities in Schools of Houston recently announced it is expanding its Mobile Mental Health Team and increasing their presence on more school campuses this fall. Last school year, the team covered 17 campuses across Houston. This year, they are expanding to 35.

Terrebonne Parish has remained without a fully functional hospital since Hurricane Ida hit Aug. 29.

As of Tuesday, Thibodaux Regional Medical Center was still the only hospital in Terrebonne and Lafourche that was operating fully.

All of the others have been closed since Ida damaged them, forcing patients to be evacuated to hospitals outside the area.

On Sunday, the Army set up a mobile unit at Terrebonne General Medical Center that is able to treat patients and, if needed, send them to other hospitals where a bed is available, officials said.

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) — Currently at UNC Health Southeastern, staff are having to use a mobile morgue because their on-site one is full due to COVID-19 deaths.
